Campground Overview
About Moraine Campground
Moraine Campground in Kings Canyon National Park is a serene escape surrounded by dramatic granite cliffs and the soothing sounds of the Kings River. This first-come, first-served campground offers a convenient base at 4,600 feet elevation, just 0.75 miles from Cedar Grove Village, making it ideal for exploring nearby attractions such as Zumwalt Meadow, Mist Falls, and Roaring River Falls.
Each of its 121 sites accommodates tents, RVs, or trailers up to 45 feet, with paved roads, picnic tables, fire rings, and large bear-proof food storage lockers providing essential comforts. Restrooms with flush toilets and potable water are conveniently dispersed throughout the campground. Partial shade is available at some sites, though it tends to favor sunnier conditions, so plan accordingly during warmer months.
In addition to the campground amenities, Cedar Grove Village offers nearby conveniences like a general store, showers, laundry, and dining options. The surrounding area invites activities such as hiking, trout fishing, and horseback riding, while abundant wildlife and stargazing opportunities enhance the natural experience. This campground is a great choice for family trips, weekend getaways, or extended stays in a breathtaking canyon setting.
