Perched on the shores of Lake Blue Ridge, Morganton Point Recreation Area offers a pristine camping experience with direct lake access, well-maintained facilities, and a wealth of outdoor activities.
This scenic campground boasts over 40 sites, including options for RVs, tents, and walk-in camping, all set against the backdrop of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The campground's clean, modern bathhouses and spacious sites, some with stunning lake views, provide a comfortable base for exploring the area. Visitors can enjoy swimming at the secluded beach, hiking trails that wind through the forest and along the lakeshore, and excellent fishing opportunities right from the campground.
Located just outside the charming town of Morganton, Georgia, and a short drive from Blue Ridge, the campground serves as an ideal gateway to the natural wonders of North Georgia. Within a 30-minute drive, campers can access the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, explore the Aska Trail System's 17 miles of hiking and biking paths, or venture into the vibrant mountain town of Blue Ridge for dining and shopping. The 3,290-acre Lake Blue Ridge, with its 60 miles of shoreline, offers ample opportunities for boating, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, with rentals available on-site during peak season.
