Campground Overview
About Mormon Bend Campground
Set along the Salmon River with views of the Sawtooth Mountains, Mormon Bend Campground combines convenience and natural beauty in an accessible, riverside setting. This small, 15-site campground offers river access for fishing and floating, an open meadow ideal for sunny days, and well-maintained sites surrounded by lodgepole pines and sagebrush.
Each campsite features paved parking pads, a tent area, picnic tables, fire rings, and access to clean vault toilets and potable water. Vault toilets and tidy grounds enhance the overall experience. While sites are somewhat open and can have less privacy, the rushing river often muffles road noise from nearby ID-75. The campground also serves as a designated put-in location for float boaters.
Located 8 miles from Stanley, Idaho, Mormon Bend is a short drive from the renowned Sawtooth National Forest, offering excellent hiking trails and mountain vistas. The campground’s proximity to Stanley makes it a great base for day trips to the town’s amenities and nearby outdoor adventures, such as steelhead and trout fishing or scenic rafting excursions on the Salmon River.
