Mowe Lake Campsites

With just two secluded campsites nestled along the shores of the serene 25-acre Mowe Lake, this campground offers an intimate and rustic retreat in the Hiawatha National Forest. The campsites are primitive, each equipped with a shared vault toilet but lacking potable water, so preparation is essential. The lake features an unimproved sandy boat launch, ideal for small boats, kayaks, or canoes, and is home to species like northern pike, largemouth bass, and yellow perch, making it a haven for anglers. While swimming is possible, the lack of designated swim areas necessitates caution. The access road accommodates moderate-sized vehicles and trailers, and nearby trailheads offer opportunities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

Located approximately 19 miles north of Rapid River, the Mowe Lake Campsites are about six miles from amenities on Forest Highway 13, including groceries, gas, and bait shops, ensuring both convenience and immersion in nature.
