North Higgins Lake State Park Campground, located on the northern shore of Michigan's crystal-clear Higgins Lake, combines historical significance with modern amenities, offering a peaceful retreat for nature lovers, anglers, and families. With its towering trees, well-shaded campsites, and proximity to one of the state's largest and most pristine lakes, this campground excels in providing both relaxation and outdoor adventure.
The 449-acre park features 182 campsites across two loops, complete with 20/30/50 amp electrical hookups, water lines, fire pits, and picnic tables. Amenities include clean restrooms, hot showers, and a nearby RV dump station, ensuring a comfortable stay for both RVers and tent campers. A standout highlight is the Higgins Lake Nursery and CCC Museum, where visitors can explore the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy over 11 miles of trails suited for hiking and cross-country skiing, as well as opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming at the sandy beach, and year-round wildlife viewing.
Situated just nine miles west of Roscommon, this campground offers convenient access to the tranquil waters of Higgins Lake, known for its excellent fishing spots and recreational boating.
