About Ozone Recreation Area & Campground

Ozone Recreation Area & Campground offers a rustic retreat in the heart of the Ozark National Forest, where tranquil campsites and historic charm converge amidst stunning natural beauty.

This primitive campground, set on the former site of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, provides eight basic campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. The area's serene atmosphere is enhanced by its lack of modern amenities, with only vault toilets available and no hookups or drinking water on-site. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the campground's direct access to hiking trails and picturesque picnic spots, perfect for immersing oneself in the surrounding forest.

Located approximately 18 miles north of Clarksville along Arkansas Highway 21, Ozone Recreation Area serves as a gateway to the Ozark Highlands region. The campground's strategic position along the Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway makes it an ideal base for exploring the area's natural wonders, including nearby sections of the Ozark Highlands Trail. Visitors can enjoy activities such as hiking, nature viewing, and stargazing in this secluded woodland setting.
