The campground features 12 sites arranged in a convenient one-way loop and includes both single and double-family units, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad. With trailheads leading directly into the Weminuche Wilderness and across the Continental Divide, Palisades Horse Campground is a gateway to exceptional horseback riding and hiking. Wildlife sightings are common, with elk, moose, and deer frequenting the area.
Situated at an elevation of 8,300 feet, the campground delivers panoramic views of mountain meadows and the nearby Williams Creek, while remaining within a 30-minute drive to the charming town of Pagosa Springs and its renowned hot springs.
