Campground Overview
About Paradise Campground
Canopying the banks of the McKenzie River, Paradise Campground offers one of Oregon’s most idyllic camping experiences with its old-growth forest setting, soothing river views, and proximity to some of the region's most adventurous outdoor activities. This tranquil retreat stands out for its riverside campsites, towering Douglas firs, and lush ground cover of moss and ferns.
Situated within the Willamette National Forest at an elevation of 1,600 feet, the campground’s 64 sites cater to both tent and RV campers and feature picnic tables, fire rings, and paved parking spurs, though no electric hookups are available. Modern amenities, including flush toilets and potable water, are complemented by a boat ramp for river activities and an amphitheater hosting educational programs. Beyond its inviting confines, the campground provides easy access to the McKenzie River Trail, a favorite for hiking and mountain biking, and opportunities for fishing, whitewater rafting, and kayaking.
Paradise Campground sits approximately four miles east of McKenzie Bridge and about 55 miles from Eugene via Oregon State Route 126. Nearby attractions within a 30-minute drive include the serene Cougar Reservoir and Terwilliger Hot Springs. Perfect for weekend getaways or extended stays, this campground combines rustic charm with the beauty and adventure of the Pacific Northwest wilderness.
