Campground Overview
About Peck Gulch Campground
Peck Gulch Campground defies expectations of a densely wooded forest retreat by offering campers a unique, open setting along the shimmering shoreline of Lake Koocanusa. Known for its expansive lake views and direct water access, this campground is ideal for boating, fishing, and swimming enthusiasts seeking a peaceful outdoor escape.
Located within Kootenai National Forest, 21 miles southwest of Eureka, Montana, Peck Gulch features 22 campsites equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, with some sites accommodating RVs up to 32 feet. The amenities include potable water, vault toilets, and a fully developed boat launch with both high- and low-water ramps. The terrain is more exposed, with limited shade, highlighting the area's wide-open beauty and making it particularly suited for starry nights by the water.
The campground provides not only solitude but also proximity to recreational gems. The vast, 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa offers a prime kokanee salmon fishery and plenty of opportunities for boating. For additional outdoor pursuits, scenic rock climbing sites and hiking trails in the surrounding national forest are within easy reach, making it an attractive destination for both weekend getaways and longer stays immersed in Montana's natural splendor.
