Campground Overview
About Peters Park
What sets Peters Park apart is its transformation of three former gravel pits into a serene 73.3-acre recreational oasis featuring 42 acres of water teeming with fish and surrounded by gentle landscapes. Just a mile east of Rodney, Iowa, this campground combines natural appeal and practical amenities, making it an ideal destination for family outings, fishing enthusiasts, or casual campers.
The park offers 49 campsites, with 26 of them featuring full hook-ups, and all equipped with water and electricity. Campers can enjoy a range of on-site facilities, including a swim beach, a playground, a sand volleyball court, and a basketball court. Amenities such as a modern two-room shower house (available seasonally), vault toilets, drinking water, picnic shelters, and grills enhance both comfort and convenience. For outdoor adventurers, a gravel boat ramp provides seamless access to fishing areas with bass, bluegill, catfish, and crappie, while the 0.9-mile walking trail offers a peaceful stroll alongside the scenic area.
Located in the tranquil Loess Hills region, Peters Park stands out as a welcoming retreat for day trips, weekend getaways, or extended vacations. Its proximity to natural water features and well-maintained amenities ensures a balanced blend of recreation and relaxation.
