Campground Overview
About Potato Patch Campground
How does a campground perched at 7,200 feet above historic Jerome sound for a cool, pine-shaded escape? Potato Patch Campground, set in the Prescott National Forest, offers a serene retreat with its towering ponderosa pines and sweeping views of the Verde Valley, Sedona's red rocks, and even the distant San Francisco Peaks.
The campground features 40 campsites divided into two loops: 28 tent and RV sites in Loop A, and 12 RV-only spots with electric hookups in Loop B. Each site is equipped with paved parking, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills, while the grounds include vault toilets, drinking water, and garbage services for convenience. Whether you're pitching a tent or parking an RV, this location provides both comfort and a rustic feel.
Located just off scenic Highway 89A, Potato Patch is ideal for exploring nearby attractions like the Woodchute Wilderness, where trails such as Woodchute Trail #102 offer stunning panoramic vistas. Mingus Lake, a short drive away, is perfect for fishing, while Jerome, less than eight miles down the mountain, enchants visitors with its artistic charm, mining history, and unique shopping and dining options. This campground is equally suited for weekend getaways, nature-focused vacations, or quiet evenings under the stars.
