Campground Overview
About Preston Bend Campground
Set along the scenic shoreline of Lake Texoma, Preston Bend Campground combines tranquil natural beauty with well-appointed amenities, creating an ideal escape for outdoor enthusiasts. Located on the Texas side of the lake, this Corps of Engineers-operated site is distinguished by its wooded surroundings of post and blackjack oaks, diverse wildlife, and direct lakefront access for boating, fishing, and hiking.
The campground offers 26 campsites with water and electric hookups and 12 basic sites, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Modern conveniences include restrooms, showers, a dump station, and a boat ramp, ensuring both tent campers and RV owners have a comfortable stay. A standout feature is the proximity to Lake Texoma's famed fishing grounds—renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World" due to its self-sustaining striped bass population. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby Cross Timbers hiking trail, winding 14 miles through rocky outcrops and dense woodland.
Located just nine miles north of Pottsboro, the campground is well-positioned for exploring the vibrant natural landscape. Within a 30-minute drive, guests can visit the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge or Eisenhower State Park, both offering additional recreational opportunities. The serene and lightly trafficked environment at Preston Bend makes it perfect for extended vacations, weekend getaways, or day trips, providing a quiet retreat with the convenience of nearby attractions.
