Roan Mountain State Park Campground

Roan Mountain State Park Campground offers a mountain retreat where the rush of the Doe River and the scent of pine forests create an immersive natural experience. This scenic campground provides a mix of RV and tent sites nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains, with easy access to hiking trails and stunning rhododendron displays.

The campground features 106 sites, including 86 RV sites with water and electric hookups and 20 tent-only sites with water access. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, allowing campers to fully embrace the outdoor lifestyle. The facilities are well-maintained, with clean bathhouses offering hot showers and modern amenities that enhance the camping experience without detracting from the natural setting.

Located at the base of the 6,285-foot Roan Mountain, the campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the park's 2,000 acres of diverse terrain. It's situated just a short drive from the charming town of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, providing a perfect balance of wilderness immersion and small-town convenience. The park's proximity to the Appalachian Trail and the famous Catawba Rhododendron Gardens makes it a magnet for hikers and nature enthusiasts, especially during the spectacular rhododendron bloom in June.
