About Rock Creek Campground

Shrouded in the lush, moss-draped canopy of Siuslaw National Forest, Rock Creek Campground offers a serene retreat where the vibrant green forest floor contrasts with the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast. Just a short half-mile walk from a tranquil beach, this small 13-site campground offers an intimate camping experience perfect for nature enthusiasts and seekers of coastal solitude.

Campsites are set along the gentle Rock Creek, featuring amenities like picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and drinking water, though there are no electric hookups. The surrounding area teems with opportunities for birding, fishing for salmon and cutthroat trout, and exploring, with the Rock Creek Wilderness Area and forest trails just nearby. Within a short drive, visitors can marvel at the dramatic views from Cape Perpetua, explore its tide pools, or hike through old-growth forests along a 23-mile trail system, making it ideal for day trips and weekend getaways.

Located about 10 miles south of Yachats and easily accessible off Highway 101, Rock Creek Campground combines rich coastal scenery with access to unique attractions like the Oregon Dunes and Heceta Head Lighthouse, both within 30 minutes. This destination is an excellent choice for those who value tranquility, natural beauty, and proximity to some of Oregon’s most scenic coastal landmarks.
