The campground's layout, set among mixed oak and pine trees at 4,600 feet elevation, ensures a sense of privacy while showcasing the natural beauty of Mt. Hood National Forest.

Located about 6 miles southwest of Wamic, Oregon, Rock Creek Reservoir Campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. The 180-acre reservoir is a focal point for activities, with excellent fishing for rainbow trout, bass, and bluegill. Electric trolling motors are permitted, allowing for peaceful boating experiences. An adjacent day-use area features a boat ramp, picnic facilities, and hiking trails, providing additional recreational options for campers.

The campground caters to both tent and RV campers, though vehicles over 35 feet are not recommended. Each site is equipped with a table and campfire ring with grill, perfect for enjoying evenings under the stars. While the amenities are basic, with vault toilets and drinking water available, the emphasis here is on immersion in nature.
