Campground Overview
About Saddle Creek Camp
Perched on the dramatic rim of Hells Canyon, Saddle Creek Campground offers stunning views of the Seven Devils Mountains in Idaho, promising an unforgettable setting for solitude seekers and nature lovers. This intimate, tent-only campground features seven walk-in sites, perfect for those who value peace and a close connection to rugged landscapes.
Located along the remote Hat Point Road, Saddle Creek Campground provides a truly off-the-grid experience. While past wildfires have left the area with minimal tree cover, the open terrain enhances the breathtaking panoramic views. Amenities are minimal, with a vault toilet but no potable water, so visitors should come prepared. The quiet and light usage of this campground make it an ideal destination for reflective escapes or remote adventure.
Just 18 miles from Imnaha, the drive to the campground via a steep, winding gravel road is an adventure in itself, rewarding visitors with access to one of the best viewpoints of Hells Canyon. The surrounding Wallowa-Whitman National Forest offers opportunities for hiking, wildlife observation, and photography, all in a truly wild setting.
