Each site includes a fire grate, picnic table, and tent pad, with accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash services available. As the only designated horse camping facility in the Sulphur Ranger District, it also provides a small corral for equestrian campers. While shade has diminished due to past tree removals, the open environment offers a uniquely crisp mountain experience at 8,962 feet elevation.

Set just a 30-minute drive from the small town of Granby, the campground serves as a launch point for exploring the Byers Peak Wilderness and South Fork Trail, a 26-mile loop ideal for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Anglers will appreciate the trout-filled streams in the area, while wildlife enthusiasts can spot species like elk and moose.
