Campground Overview
About Stevens Lake Campground
With its idyllic setting in a maturing maple forest on the western shore of Stevens Lake, Stevens Lake Campground offers a remote and peaceful retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This small campground is highly regarded for its lakefront access, scenic surroundings, and opportunities for fishing and fall hunting.
The campground features six shaded sites, five of which are lakeside, providing partial views of the 290-acre lake through lightly wooded foliage. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, tent area, and gravel parking spurs. Modern conveniences include accessible vault toilets and potable water sources, but there are no electric hookups. A public boat landing with a paved ramp and boat pier enhances recreational opportunities for boaters and anglers alike, with Stevens Lake yielding catches such as northern pike, panfish, and largemouth bass.
Located about 15 miles from Iron River, Wisconsin, and within a 30-minute drive of nearby attractions like the Lauterman National Recreation Trail and Whisker Lake Wilderness, this campground is ideal for weekend fishing trips, hunting expeditions, or quiet getaways immersed in nature.
