Campground Overview
About Stillwater RV and Campground
Imagine a campground that offers sweeping views of a shimmering alpine lake framed by rugged mountain peaks, yet stands out for its lack of shade due to the removal of beetle-damaged trees—this is Stillwater Campground. Situated on the northern shore of Lake Granby in Colorado’s Arapaho National Recreation Area, this sprawling campground balances convenience with access to serene natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
With 129 campsites, including 21 with electric hookups, Stillwater accommodates a variety of camping setups from tents to RVs. Each site features essentials like picnic tables, campfire rings, and tent pads, complemented by flush and vault toilets, drinking water, showers, and a dump station. The setup emphasizes functionality, though the lack of tree cover minimizes privacy between sites and requires visitors to prepare for strong sun exposure. The elevated location provides breathtaking lake and mountain vistas, particularly at sunrise and sunset.
Located just 8 miles north of Granby and 6 miles southeast of Grand Lake, Stillwater Campground provides easy access to Lake Granby’s abundant water activities, including boating, swimming, fishing for trout and salmon, and paddleboarding. On-site, a boat ramp and dock simplify lake exploration. For adventurers, nearby trails like the East Shore Trail (part of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail) offer hiking, while the western entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, only 20 minutes away, expands the scope of wilderness exploration.
