About Swaseys Beach
Swasey’s Beach Campground is a sandy oasis just ten miles north of Green River, Utah, offering a serene riverside retreat alongside the Green River with shaded sites, sweeping canyon views, and family-friendly water activities. Dominated by the towering Book Cliffs and framed by cottonwood trees, this campground provides a perfect mix of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
The campground features 29 first-come, first-served campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets and trash disposal are available, but there are no hookups or potable water, so campers should come prepared. Swasey’s Beach itself is a highlight, with shallow waters for swimming, a boat ramp for easy river access, and sandy shores perfect for relaxation. The nearby Desolation Canyon Wilderness offers dramatic vistas and opportunities for hiking, while the river is ideal for boating or a leisurely float.
Located a convenient drive from the town of Green River, it serves as both a quiet getaway and a gateway to explore the surrounding San Rafael Swell and Desolation Canyon. With its picturesque setting and proximity to adventure, Swasey’s Beach is well-suited for everything from a peaceful day trip to an extended weekend escape.
