Campground Overview
About Tallulah Gorge State Park
How does a campground defy expectations with both proximity to adventure and tranquil retreat? Tallulah Gorge State Park Campground achieves this balance by situating campers moments away from the breathtaking 1,000-foot-deep gorge and five cascading waterfalls, while offering shaded, well-equipped sites perfect for a serene escape.
The campground features 50 paved, drive-up sites with water and electrical hookups, accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 50 feet. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and access to clean restrooms with hot showers. While the sites are somewhat close together, the location provides unmatched access to the park's dramatic trails, including the Hurricane Falls staircase and the suspension bridge that sways 80 feet above the roaring river below. For a more rugged experience, three backcountry sites with Adirondack shelters offer a hike-in escape, while a Pioneer Campground accommodates large groups seeking a primitive setting.
Located just off U.S. 441 in Tallulah Falls, Georgia, the campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the gorge’s rim and floor trails, scenic overlooks, and seasonal swimming at the day-use area on Tallulah Lake. Nearby, the charming town of Helen and Black Rock Mountain State Park are within a 30-minute drive, making this a hub for adventure and natural beauty in northern Georgia.
