Campground Overview
About Tejas Park Campground
Set amidst the serene woodlands of the Texas Hill Country, Tejas Park Campground offers a primitive yet peaceful retreat on the south bank of Lake Georgetown. Its defining features include walk-in tent campsites, easy access to the North San Gabriel River, and proximity to the famed Goodwater Loop Trail, which is ideal for hikers and bikers seeking scenic vistas and diverse terrains.
The campground features 12 primitive sites and a group camping area, all equipped with essentials like picnic tables, fire rings, and lantern poles. While there are no individual site hookups for water or electricity, potable water and vault toilets are conveniently located within the campground. Shaded by large trees and nestled near the river, the campsites provide a tranquil setting for fishing, swimming, wildlife observation, and stargazing. The Goodwater Loop's nearby trailhead enables campers to explore the 26-mile path winding around the lake and through diverse landscapes, from juniper forests to prairie grasslands.
Tejas Park is located along County Road 258, just 25 miles north of Austin and a short drive from the nearby town of Georgetown, which offers dining, shopping, and entertainment in its historic downtown area. The campground is ideally suited for weekend escapes, nature-based adventures, or group gatherings in a secluded yet accessible environment.
