Tenderfoot Creek Campground offers a quintessential Alaskan escape, combining serene lakeside camping with breathtaking views of the Chugach National Forest. Located along the eastern shore of Summit Lake on the Kenai Peninsula, just off Mile 46 of the Seward Highway and approximately 21 miles north of Seward, it provides easy access to outdoor adventures while maintaining a tranquil atmosphere.

The lack of electric hookups is more than compensated by the natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Summit Lake, a glacially carved tarn, is a highlight of the area. Its clear, 20-foot-deep waters are ideal for paddling and fishing, stocked with rainbow trout and Dolly Varden. The campground is also conveniently close to the Summit Lake Lodge for dining and supplies and nearby attractions like Portage Glacier in the Portage Valley, just a short drive south.
