About Tuttle Creek Campground
Is Tuttle Creek Campground the perfect spot for immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of the Eastern Sierra while enjoying the conveniences of a semi-developed site? Located just five miles southwest of Lone Pine, California, this Bureau of Land Management-run campground offers an exceptional mix of breathtaking scenery, a peaceful atmosphere, and easy access to outdoor adventures.
Tuttle Creek Campground features 83 first-come, first-served sites equipped with fire pits, picnic tables, and lantern holders. While there are no hookups or showers, seasonal potable water and a dump station (available March through October) make it more accommodating for RVs and tent campers alike. Surrounded by the iconic Alabama Hills and with views of Mount Whitney and Owens Valley, the campground is a dream for photographers, stargazers, and those seeking solitude. Two horse corrals and a group campsite are available for equestrians and gatherings, enhancing its versatility.
Conveniently situated, the campground is minutes away from renowned attractions like the Alabama Hills' unique rock formations, perfect for hiking or rock climbing, and the Lone Pine Film History Museum. The trail to the historic Tuttle Creek Ashram and the majestic Whitney Portal are also nearby, offering options for short excursions or extended adventure.
