Warm River

Located just nine miles northeast of Ashton, Idaho, in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, this campground is a hub for river tubing, excellent trout fishing, and access to a network of trails leading to natural springs, waterfalls, and even old railroad tunnels.

The campground features 37 campsites, including dedicated spaces for tents, trailers, and RVs, along with a large group area accommodating up to 100 people. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits, with firewood available for purchase. A day-use picnic area sits right along the river, perfect for families or a midday retreat. While sites offer a mix of sun and shade, the willow-lined riverbanks and pine trees create a serene and partially sheltered atmosphere. Note that no trash services are provided, so visitors are encouraged to pack out all waste.

Within a 30-minute radius, campers can explore the picturesque Mesa Falls on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway or venture into Island Park for additional trails and water activities. Ashton provides convenient access to groceries and supplies, ensuring you’re well-equipped for your stay.
