Campground Overview

About Washington Lake

Can you imagine camping at a pristine alpine lake surrounded by the majestic Uinta Mountains, where tranquility and outdoor adventure coexist? Washington Lake Campground, located at 10,000 feet along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, offers serene lake views, crisp mountain air, and a gateway to some of Utah's most breathtaking hiking and fishing opportunities.

This medium-sized campground features 44 sites, a mix of group and individual spots, most equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and a few with tent pads. The campground lacks modern conveniences such as water hookups but compensates with well-maintained vault toilets and trash collection facilities. The adjacent Washington Lake is perfect for fishing and non-motorized water activities like canoeing and kayaking, while proximity to trails, such as the Crystal Lake Trail, provides access to alpine wilderness rich in scenery and wildlife.

Located 23.6 miles east of Kamas, Utah, the campground is a short drive from numerous attractions in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. With its emphasis on a natural experience free from motorized disruption, Washington Lake Campground is ideal for anglers, hikers, and those seeking an authentic high-elevation escape.
