About West Lake

What sets West Lake Campground apart is its serene lakeside setting, offering electric hookups across most of its 36 sites, rich recreational opportunities, and proximity to the delightful village of Red Feather Lakes. Ideal for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, this small campground provides a tranquil escape amidst a ponderosa pine forest and the foothills of northern Colorado.

Located at 8,200 feet in elevation and just two miles from Red Feather Lakes, the campground boasts a 25-acre no-wake lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, with rainbow and lake trout regularly caught by visitors. Each campsite is thoughtfully equipped with a picnic table, fire grate, and bear-proof locker, while vault toilets and drinking water ensure convenience. Five walk-in-only tent sites provide added seclusion for those seeking privacy. The surrounding trails also invite hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders to explore the area.

Just 48 miles northwest of Fort Collins, this campground offers easy access to the charming amenities of Red Feather Lakes, including small shops, dining spots, and a golf course. Nearby trails like Mount Margaret and West Lake Trail, along with multiple fishing and hiking options, make it perfect for weekend getaways or extended stays while enjoying Colorado's natural beauty.
