Campground Overview
About Wild Cow Campground
Tucked within the cool elevation of Arizona's Hualapai Mountains, Wild Cow Springs Campground offers a serene, rustic escape where towering ponderosa pines and oak trees provide a shaded haven from the desert heat. Situated at 6,200 feet, the campground is about 20 degrees cooler than the desert lowlands, making it a refreshing retreat for summer getaways.
This simple yet charming campground features basic amenities including picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and vault toilets, but no potable water—campers must bring their own supply. The first-come, first-served sites allow for an authentic, no-frills outdoor experience. Beyond the campsites, nature enthusiasts will enjoy easy access to Hualapai Mountain Park, just a short drive away, which offers 10 miles of hiking trails and breathtaking desert-to-mountain views.
Located around 20 miles southeast of Kingman, Arizona, Wild Cow Springs Campground’s proximity to Hualapai Mountain Park and convenient access to trails and wildlife make it ideal for short weekend trips or relaxed nature-focused stays. Adventurous visitors should note the rugged, unpaved one-lane road leading to the site, which requires a high-clearance vehicle for safe travel.
