Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area

The campsites, scattered along interior roads, provide fire rings, picnic tables, and nearby vault toilets, with drinking water accessible at the Nature Center. Although RVs are limited to 30 feet due to sharp turnarounds, this campground's minimal amenities invite a rustic experience in a breathtakingly rugged environment reminiscent of the Badlands or Rocky Mountain foothills. Seven miles of hiking and biking trails weave through the diverse flora and fauna, while the area also features a year-round Nature Center and a Shooting Sports Complex for an active, engaging visit.

Located just 10 miles south of Gering, Nebraska, the campground is within 30 minutes of iconic landmarks like Chimney Rock and Scotts Bluff National Monument.
