About Winn Campground
Winn Campground, situated at a lofty 9,300 feet in the stunning Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, offers a rare blend of seclusion, natural beauty, and outdoor opportunities. Surrounded by dense pine and aspen forests, this high-elevation retreat provides tranquil campsites, access to outstanding trout fishing, and a chance to observe wildlife like elk grazing at twilight meadows.
The campground boasts 63 sites that accommodate both tents and RVs (up to 45 feet), as well as two group sites perfect for reunions or scout gatherings. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and vault toilets, with potable water available in limited quantities. While the campground lacks utility hookups, its proximity to Mount Baldy trailheads and Lee Valley Reservoir—home to the rare Apache trout—makes it an ideal base for hikers and anglers alike. Summer visitors can expect cool temperatures, though the area’s monsoon season can bring dramatic afternoon rains.
Located approximately 25 miles southwest of Greer, Arizona, and just 2 miles from Lee Valley Reservoir, Winn Campground is a gateway to the pristine White Mountains. Nearby attractions include Big Lake and Sheep’s Crossing along the Little Colorado River, ensuring a wealth of recreational activities within a short drive. Whether for a serene weekend escape or an extended outdoor vacation, this campsite captures the essence of Arizona’s mountain wilderness.
