A boat ramp and harbor adjacent to the campground provide easy access to both the Mississippi River and the expansive 67,000-acre Lake Winnie, renowned for its walleye, perch, and muskie fishing.

Located about 25 miles east of Deer River, Minnesota, Winnie Dam Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding Chippewa National Forest.
