This rustic, county-owned campground features 31 sites designed to accommodate both RVs and tents, with some sites positioned directly by the lake and others high above, offering panoramic vistas.
Wupperman Campground provides essential amenities, including potable water, trash removal, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire grates, and a convenient RV dump station. The peaceful ambiance is complemented by nearby opportunities for fishing, hiking, and boating. Situated just a short 15-minute drive from the historic mountain town of Lake City, the campground also serves as a base for exploring the Alpine Loop and other local attractions.
Located at an elevation of 9,000 feet, the campground is accessible via County Road 33, just a few miles south of Lake City. Its proximity to Lake San Cristobal ensures easy access to Colorado's second-largest natural lake, where anglers enjoy trout fishing and paddlers can rent kayaks, canoes, or fishing boats.
