About Allis State Park
Allis State Park Campground, perched atop Bear Hill, offers dramatic panoramic views of central Vermont’s rugged peaks and rolling forests, enhanced by a historic fire tower that rewards visitors with a 360-degree vista stretching to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Green Mountains of Vermont. This compact yet charming campground features 18 tent/RV sites, 8 lean-tos, and a secluded group camping area, all surrounded by tranquil woodland and dotted with remnants of stone walls from its past as a working farm.
Located in Brookfield, Vermont, and accessed by one of the state’s few remaining gravel highways, the park exudes rustic charm and serenity. On-site amenities include restrooms with hot showers, picnic areas, and a log pavilion available for group gatherings. The Bear Hill Nature Trail, a gentle 0.75-mile loop, invites exploration, while nearby attractions like the Floating Bridge, Vermont Granite Museum, and the historic downtowns of Randolph and Barre are within a convenient 30-minute drive. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or a base for local sightseeing, Allis State Park delivers an authentic and scenic Vermont camping experience.
