Campground Overview

About Beaver Lake Campground

What sets the Beaver Lake Campground apart is its serene location at the edge of Beaver Lake, paired with an intimate camping experience featuring just 11 well-spaced sites, some offering stunning views of the lake, meadows, and surrounding cliffs. Situated within Colorado’s Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests, the campground seamlessly combines natural beauty with opportunities for adventure, making it a top choice for anglers, hikers, and anyone craving tranquility in a picturesque forest setting.

Each campsite is designed to provide both comfort and immersion in nature, some secluded among spruce trees while others offer open vistas. Essential amenities include picnic tables, fire grates, and vault toilets, though campers should note that drinking water is not available on-site and must be sourced from Silver Jack Campground a mile away. The area is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, as Beaver Lake is well-stocked with trout, and outdoor adventurers will appreciate nearby hiking trails and off-road vehicle routes. However, the access road's heavy four-wheeler traffic should be considered if seeking complete solitude.

Located near the small town of Cimarron and about 30 minutes from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the campground is well-positioned for both day trips and extended stays. With its combination of scenic landscapes, recreational opportunities, and peaceful atmosphere, Beaver Lake Campground is ideal for families, weekend getaways, or longer retreats into nature.
