Campground Overview
About Bennett Creek Campground
Isolated yet inviting, Bennett Creek Campground offers a serene, rugged escape on the banks of the North Platte River, where anglers, wildlife enthusiasts, and adventurers can revel in unspoiled natural beauty. This Bureau of Land Management site is known for its riverfront location, wheelchair-accessible riverbank fishing areas, and the rich surrounding habitat of cottonwoods, Douglas firs, and junipers, which support diverse wildlife from bald eagles to bighorn sheep.
The campground features 11 well-maintained campsites equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and sandy tent pads, alongside a vault toilet and a hand-pumped freshwater well. A boat ramp grants easy access to the river for paddling or floating, while day-use parking ensures convenience for short visits. Visitors can enjoy stellar rainbow and brown trout fishing, peaceful nature trails, and scenic vistas in a low-key, natural setting. However, horses are not permitted within the campground, maintaining its tranquil atmosphere.
Located 12 miles from Riverside and just a short drive east of Saratoga, Wyoming, the campground is reachable via a graveled road that winds through striking landscapes. Nearby, the Medicine Bow National Forest provides even more opportunities for hiking and wildlife observation, making Bennett Creek Campground an ideal choice for weekend retreats or extended wilderness stays.
