Situated at an elevation of 8,009 feet beside Barrett Creek, the campground's aspen and evergreen backdrop bursts with fall color and is rich with local wildlife, making it ideal for hikers, fishers, and nature enthusiasts.
This campground features 49 campsites, including 13 RV-friendly pull-through spots and a group site accommodating larger gatherings. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, and trash collection, ensuring a comfortable and equipped camping experience. Historical interpretive signs provide insights into its colorful past as a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps and World War II prisoner-of-war camp. With the nearby Mirror Lake Picnic Area, hiking trails, and fishing spots, outdoor recreation abounds, while wildlife sightings add an extra layer of wonder to any stay.
