Campground Overview

About Bogard Campground

Amid the scenic Lassen National Forest, Bogard Campground offers an intimate retreat for campers seeking a rustic experience. Known for its serene setting and proximity to Pine Creek, this small, first-come, first-serve campground features just ten campsites, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere enhanced by groves of aspens and tall pines. With no fees, seasonal potable water from a hand-pump, and clean vault toilets, the campground delivers simplicity without sacrificing basic necessities.

Located 1.75 miles off Highway 44 and about a 30-minute drive from Susanville, Bogard Campground is ideally situated for anyone exploring Lassen Volcanic National Park or the surrounding forest trails. Equally appealing for equestrians, it boasts four dedicated horse camping sites, complete with corrals, and an extensive network of easy forest service roads for riding. While the Dixie Fire of 2021 left visible scars in the area, the natural beauty prevails, particularly in spring with blooming meadows and in fall when aspens blaze with color.
