About Canyon Lake Marina & Campground
With red-rock canyon walls plunging into crystal-clear waters, Canyon Lake Marina & Campground offers an immersive outdoor experience just 12 miles north of Apache Junction, Arizona. This waterfront campground is a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, featuring lakeside RV sites, shaded tent spots, and easy access to a host of recreational activities.
The campground accommodates a variety of camping preferences with 28 RV sites, many equipped with 30/50 amp hookups, and 18 tent sites, all conveniently near the shoreline. Each campsite includes a picnic table, firepit, and charcoal grill, ensuring a true camping experience. While the amenities are basic—restrooms, showers, and a general store are on-site—the setting makes up for it, with breathtaking views and direct lake access for swimming, fishing, and boating. Boat rentals and the marina allow guests to fully explore the 950-acre lake, dotted with secluded coves and rich in wildlife, such as bighorn sheep and deer.
Canyon Lake is perfectly positioned for adventurers, with the storied Apache Trail and nearby Boulder Canyon Trail offering hiking opportunities through the rugged Arizona wilderness. Visitors can also take a scenic cruise on the historic Dolly Steamboat or explore local history at the rustic Tortilla Flat, just minutes away, both providing unique glimpses into the area’s cultural and natural heritage.
