Carpios Ridge Campground offers a commanding vantage point 150 feet above Trinidad Lake, providing panoramic vistas of the water and surrounding mountains that define the camping experience. This well-maintained campground strikes an ideal balance between accessibility and natural immersion, with paved roads leading to a mix of shaded and open sites that cater to both RVs and tent campers.
The campground's 63 sites are thoughtfully arranged in two loops, offering varying degrees of privacy and lake views. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad, while all sites provide 50-amp electrical hookups, with a select few offering full hookups. The modern facilities include clean restrooms, hot showers, and laundry amenities, enhancing comfort for extended stays.
Located within Trinidad Lake State Park, Carpios Ridge serves as an excellent base for exploring the area's recreational opportunities. The park boasts over 10 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, ranging from easy lakeside strolls to more challenging ridge climbs.
