Campground Overview

About Cement Creek Campground

Shaded by aspens and pines in a narrow mountain valley, Cement Creek Campground offers a true back-to-basics experience for campers seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and access to adventure. Located just 15 miles from Crested Butte, Colorado, this primitive campground features 13 first-come, first-served campsites, many along Cement Creek, providing a serene and picturesque setting.

Each site is equipped with picnic tables, metal fire rings, and tent pads, while vault toilets are available for campers' convenience. However, there are no water or utility hookups, so visitors should come prepared with their own water and supplies. The area is a launchpad for activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and trout fishing, with trails and scenic vistas accessible directly from the campground. Crested Butte, known for its wildflowers and mountain biking trails, is a short drive away for additional exploration or a visit to its quaint eateries and shops.

Situated off a dirt road (Forest Road 740) that is manageable for most vehicles, Cement Creek Campground is best suited for tents and smaller RVs due to tight turns and limited site space. Open seasonally from late May to early October, this light-use campground is ideal for weekend getaways or extended stays for those seeking a peaceful mountain retreat immersed in nature.
