Campground Overview

About Crane Valley Group Campground

Crane Valley Group Campground, located at the north end of Bass Lake in California's Sierra National Forest, offers a blend of seclusion and accessibility, making it ideal for group camping adventures immersed in nature. Surrounded by dense oak, cedar, and pine forests, this campground's proximity to Bass Lake provides unparalleled opportunities for boating, fishing for Kokanee salmon, swimming, and hiking.

The campground features seven group sites that can accommodate gatherings of 12 to 30 people. Each site is equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. While there are no direct lake views, the campground's shaded setting ensures comfort, and its design offers a degree of privacy. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water on-site, so campers should bring their own supply. Its year-round access makes it a versatile option for both summer retreats and cooler-season outings.

Situated about 10 miles from the bustling gateway town of Oakhurst, Crane Valley is a short drive from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. Additionally, scenic trails such as the Way of the Mono Trail and attractions like Angel Falls are nearby, offering both cultural and recreational enrichment. Bass Lake serves as the focal point for activities, including paddleboarding, water skiing, and wildlife viewing, ensuring a dynamic outdoor experience for all visitors.
