About Dearhamer Campground

Isolated yet easily accessible, Dearhamer Campground delivers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a serene escape in Colorado's White River National Forest. Situated along the Fryingpan River and just above Ruedi Reservoir, this campground is a haven for anglers, hikers, and wildlife lovers, offering pristine Gold Medal Waters for fly fishing, scenic trails to Red Table Mountain, and abundant wildlife observation.

The campground features 13 single-family sites accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet long. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof storage locker, with potable water and vault toilets available on-site. While there are no electric hookups, the lack of development preserves the peaceful atmosphere, perfect for stargazing or unwinding by a campfire.

Located approximately 22 miles east of Basalt, the campground provides easy access to Ruedi Marina's boat ramp and the challenging Ruedi Trail. Visitors can also enjoy water-based activities like boating, swimming, and paddleboarding. The charming town of Basalt, known for its dining and cultural charm, is a short drive away, rounding out a truly immersive outdoor experience.
