Deer Haven Campground, located 19 miles east of Cedar City in the Dixie National Forest, defies common camping expectations by offering a serene alpine retreat at 8,900 feet elevation with stunning aspen and pine forests, summer wildflowers, and expansive views. The campground features individual camp spots with picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads, as well as a group site accommodating up to 200 people. Amenities include clean vault and flush toilets, as well as a limited supply of piped drinking water. Notable activities include hiking and mountain biking on the 34-mile Virgin River Rim Trail and exploring nearby Cedar Breaks National Monument, just 11 miles away. Additionally, Navajo Lake and Duck Lake, offering fishing and boating, lie within a 30-minute drive, while the Duck Creek/Markagunt ATV trail system begins nearby.
This campground is perfectly positioned for day trips to Cedar Breaks, peaceful evenings under the stars, or connections to the surrounding natural wonders of southern Utah.
