About Deer Park Campground

Deer Park Cabin offers a rustic retreat in the heart of Boise National Forest, where solitude seekers and nature enthusiasts converge. This historic guard station, dating back to the 1930s, provides a unique blend of primitive comfort and wilderness immersion that defines the quintessential Idaho backcountry experience.

Nestled in a picturesque meadow surrounded by mature Ponderosa pines, the cabin serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring the rugged beauty of the North Fork Boise River area. The simple yet well-equipped interior features bunk beds, a futon, and basic kitchen amenities, allowing guests to enjoy the comforts of shelter while maintaining a close connection to the surrounding wilderness.

Located approximately 30 miles northeast of Idaho City, Deer Park Cabin sits at an elevation of 4,400 feet, offering cool respite during summer months and a cozy winter retreat for the adventurous. The cabin's proximity to the North Fork Boise River Trail provides immediate access to some of the most scenic hiking in the region, with opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, and backcountry exploration right outside the door.
