Campground Overview
About Dosewallips State Park
Dosewallips State Park Campground offers a rare mix of freshwater and saltwater experiences, with the Dosewallips River meeting Hood Canal at its edge. Campers find open, grassy sites shaded by big-leaf maples and easy access to both forest and tidal adventures—an ideal base for nature lovers.
The campground has 123 sites, including 48 with RV hookups and 75 for tents. Amenities like clean restrooms, hot showers, picnic tables, and fire rings keep things comfortable, whether you’re weekending or settling in for a longer stay. Within the park, 3.5 miles of trails provide easy-to-moderate hiking and frequent elk sightings, while water activities range from fishing and kayaking to crabbing and clamming. Nearby Triton Cove State Park adds a convenient boat launch.
Set in Brinnon, Washington, right off Highway 101, Dosewallips sits at the doorstep of Olympic National Park’s quieter eastern side. The Staircase area at Lake Cushman, the lush Dosewallips River valley, and even Lake Quinault are all within reach for day trips. And just 15 minutes down the road, Hama Hama Oyster offers a perfect stop for fresh shellfish on Hood Canal. With its central location, diverse recreation, and balance of comfort and wilderness, Dosewallips stands out as one of the Olympic Peninsula’s most versatile camping destinations.
