Additional conveniences such as showers, a marina, and a store offering gas, groceries, and boat rentals are found about a mile away. Visitors can fish for rainbow, cutthroat, brook, and Apache trout, or explore miles of trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing.

Situated in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Grayling Campground is a 30-minute drive from Springerville, Arizona, and provides access to both the Big Lake Recreation Area and the surrounding wilderness.
