About Hyner Run State Park
How does Hyner Run State Park Campground compare to other outdoor destinations? Few campgrounds offer its mix of serene creekside camping, modern amenities, and easy access to one of Pennsylvania's most breathtaking lookouts, Hyner View State Park.
The campground is small but well-maintained, featuring 30 campsites organized into two loops. Twenty-one of these sites include electric hookups, while the remaining nine offer a more primitive camping option. Each site is outfitted with a picnic table, fire ring, and level pad, with easy access to clean, heated restrooms and free hot showers. Families will appreciate its proximity to the swimming pool and playground, while hikers can explore the nearby Donut Hole Trail System and Long Fork Loop, which run through the park’s rugged forest terrain. The tranquil Hyner Run stream flows parallel to the campsites, creating a peaceful ambiance.
Hyner Run State Park is nestled within the 305,000-acre Sproul State Forest and located approximately two miles east of the village of Hyner in Clinton County, Pennsylvania. It is less than a five-minute drive to Hyner View State Park, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Susquehanna River and hang-gliding opportunities. The area also offers trout fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing, making it a versatile destination ideal for weekend getaways or extended vacations in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
