Campground Overview
About Juniper Springs Group Campground
What sets Juniper Springs Group Campground apart is its secluded location in the San Bernardino Mountains, surrounded by serene pinyon-juniper woodlands and a tranquil meadow. Offering a rugged yet rewarding camping experience, this primitive group site ensures privacy, immersive mountain views, and close proximity to recreational trails and off-road adventures.
The campground accommodates up to 40 people across a single large site, equipped with picnic tables, a communal campfire circle, and a double pedestal grill. Vault toilets are available, but visitors must bring their own water and pack out trash. Access is limited to vehicles with high clearance or four-wheel drive, adding to the remote, off-the-grid experience. Nearby, the Cactus Flats Staging Area opens up 68 miles of off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails, while Big Bear Lake—just 10 miles away—offers hiking, fishing, and boating opportunities as well as access to shops and restaurants.
Situated at an elevation of 7,739 feet, the campground provides cool mountain air and ample shaded areas beneath towering ponderosa pines, making it an ideal spot for group getaways, nature-focused weekends, or outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure in Southern California’s stunning wilderness.
