About Kelleys Island State Park
What sets Kelleys Island State Park Campground apart is its location on the serene northern shores of Kelleys Island, offering campers stunning Lake Erie views, easy shoreline access, and the chance to explore unique geological features such as ancient glacial grooves. Unlike crowded mainland campgrounds, this island retreat requires a ferry trip, creating a sense of escape and exclusivity.
This campground features a mix of 84 electric and 45 non-electric sites, along with two well-equipped yurts and two cabin rentals. Amenities include clean shower facilities, flush toilets, a dump station, a playground, and a volleyball court. A short walk brings visitors to the sandy swimming beach, fishing access, and boat rentals, while hiking trails wind through diverse ecosystems such as limestone alvars and marshland. The campground’s proximity to the famous Glacial Grooves State Memorial and North Pond State Nature Preserve enriches the experience for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Located just 1.5 miles from the ferry dock in the town center, Kelleys Island State Park provides a peaceful getaway while remaining within easy reach of the island’s charming restaurants, shops, and other attractions. Whether for a weekend escape or a longer retreat, this unique destination offers a blend of relaxation and adventure in a remarkable Great Lakes setting.
