Campground Overview
About Middle Bass Island State Park Campground
Middle Bass Island State Park Campground offers a unique island camping experience with waterfront sites and easy access to Lake Erie's shores. This primitive tent-only campground provides a peaceful retreat for those seeking a rustic outdoor adventure away from the crowds.
The campground features 10 non-electric sites nestled along the shoreline, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. While amenities are basic, with only a latrine available on-site, campers can access showers and flush toilets at the nearby marina's harbormaster building. The campground's location provides excellent opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and beachcombing right from your campsite.
Situated on Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie, the campground is accessible only by ferry or private boat. The island's quiet atmosphere and natural beauty make it ideal for birdwatching, hiking, and exploring. Visitors can rent bicycles to tour the island or kayaks to paddle along the scenic shoreline. The historic Lonz Winery grounds, now home to a seasonal concession offering refreshments and entertainment, are within walking distance of the campground.
